It cleared my eczema in 4 days - I used the smallest amount of the cream once a day for 4 days - and my skin healed!!! [...] UPDATE September 2024: I repeated this cycle and my eczema came back more and more quickly, and now my eczema comes back 2 DAYS after stopping the steroid.

One night in December, I applied the Elocon cream, and my face ballooned up like Will Smith's face in Hitch. It was fucking terrible. The following morning, I began to ooze and itch all over my body.

Elocon arrived, a medium to strong steroid, and it totally resolved my eyelids after using 3 times.

What are others saying?
The treatment is generally safe, especially in children. In studies, it showed minimal side effects and didn't affect children's growth when used as directed. Morning cortisol levels remained normal in most cases, indicating minimal impact on the body's hormone system.
What does the research say?
Study Summary

In children with mild to moderate eczema, neither mometasone furoate 0.1% nor tacrolimus 0.1% affected their short-term growth rates. This suggests these treatments are safe to use in children without concerns about growth suppression.

Is Mometasone Right For Me?

Mometasone furoate is a topical corticosteroid cream that is applied directly to the skin to treat inflammation and itching.
Mometasone might be right for you if:
  • You are 2 years or older

  • You have skin inflammation that responds to corticosteroids

  • You need short-term treatment (up to 3 weeks)

It works by reducing inflammation, itching, and redness in the skin. It does this by blocking certain chemicals in your body that cause inflammation.
Can be used in children 2 years and older, but only with caution and typically not for longer than 3 weeks. Not recommended for children under 2 years old. Children are at higher risk of side effects than adults because they absorb more of the medication through their skin.
Generally safe for elderly patients. No overall differences in safety or effectiveness were observed in elderly patients compared to younger patients, though some older individuals may be more sensitive to the effects.
Should only be used during pregnancy if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. Animal studies have shown it can cause birth defects when used in high doses.
Use with caution. It's not known if the medicine passes into breast milk, but many similar medications do. Discuss with your healthcare provider.
